VIDEO: Lakeside Sparks Curiosity with Hands-On STEAM Day

Levy Lakeside School celebrated STEAM Day on May 15 with science presentations, hands-on activity stations, escape rooms, and more.
Sixth graders guided younger students through activities in both the Lion’s Den and gymnasium, creating opportunities for collaboration and mentorship across grade levels.
The event was led by STEAM coaches Melissa Robinson, Kelly Larson, Ruth Rosenberg, and Shari Dorfman.
Third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students tested their problem-solving abilities by working through riddles and clues in breakout rooms.
“STEAM Day is a celebration of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics,” said Robinson. “It gives students the chance to explore these subjects through hands-on activities designed and led by our own fifth- and sixth-grade students.”
