Merrick Named a Best Community for Music Education

The Merrick School District has once again been recognized by the NAMM Foundation as one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education.
This honor highlights the district’s strong commitment to providing high-quality music programs for all students. It reflects the collaborative efforts of teachers, administrators, families, and community members to ensure that music remains an important part of a well-rounded elementary education.
Dr. Richard Nasto, the district’s music coordinator, called the recognition “an honor and a privilege.”
“It is through continued support from families, administrators and teachers that help us to foster such a positive learning environment for our students. Our exceptionally talented Music Department does such an incredible job working with students to instill a love of music while supporting their growth and development. I speak for all of us in the department when I say that we are proud to be a part of a community where music is valued, supported and fostered. Congratulations to them, the students, families and our Merrick community.”
