Student Corner: Birthday Wishes
In the month of March, the Lakeside Student Council’s service project was to collect donations for Birthday Wishes. Birthday Wishes is an agency who provides a birthday in a box for all the children living in the homeless shelters of Nassau County. We donated paper goods, wrapping paper and presents so every child will have a chance to celebrate their special day. The Lakeside Lions were given an opportunity to help and we showed up. We collected arts and craft kits, coloring books & crayons, RC cars, birthday banners, birthday napkins & plates, birthday wrapping paper, action figures, junior sized basketballs & soccer balls, and Lego sets. Our collection lasted from March 16th to March 24th. In total, 9 boxes along with 3 full bags were collected. A big thank you to the many Lakeside families who donated items. It is such a great feeling when we can help kids. Everyone should have the chance to celebrate their special day!
