Birch Fifth Graders Become Reporters During Journalism Unit

There was breaking news in Room 69 at Birch School! When students arrived to find papers torn, punch cards missing, and strange clues scattered around, they jumped into investigative mode. The twist? The “crime scene” was a creative setup by Ms. Pikowsky to kick off the fifth graders’ new journalism unit. Students will now learn to ask questions, gather facts, and write news stories—just like real reporters.
