Merrick School District

Recently, the Birch school gathered to celebrate the life and impact of Marleen Soling, a truly remarkable woman whose kindness, creatively, and generosity of spirit touched every corner of Birch School. The Birch community was welcomed by Mrs. Soling’s family, who generously donated a table and bench to the community. The table and bench will be kept in the courtyard where Mrs. Soling worked with so many students. Four students spoke on her behalf, in addition to several staff members.

Mrs. Soling reminded us that true impact does not come from grand gestures – it comes from showing up, caring deeply, and giving selflessly.
